Open Call to Lowestoft-based visual artists
Exhibition opportunity at The Battery of Ideas for visual artists living or working in NR32 and NR33.
The Battery of Ideas project is looking for four Lowestoft (NR32 or NR33 postcodes) based artists to display artwork in our windows at The Battery (the Old Tesco) on London Road North.
Exhibition date: Week of 16th February (install) - Week of 9th March (deinstall) Exact install and deinstall dates tbc.
All artworks will be displayed in the large shop windows, with audiences viewing the work from outside, as the space will not be open to the public every day.
Artists must be able to install their work either directly onto the window (such as removable vinyl), hung with small hooks and wire from the top wooden window frame, or mounted on exhibition boards, easels or plinths provided by the artist. We can provide tables if needed.
Each artist will have half a window each to display work, which measures approximately 257cm height x 170cm width.
Developed in response to local artists’ feedback, this exhibition provides an opportunity to exhibit existing artworks in a local and visible space. While we cannot provide a fee to artists, we do want to use our windows to showcase the talent of our local artist community.
To apply, please complete the online form below by Sunday 8th February. For more information or any questions, please email faye@firstlightlowestoft.com
