Hotel Kittiwake+ Workshop 2

Join artists Ed Compson and Arieh Frosh for two connected role playing workshops inspired by the ‘Kittiwake Hotels’ that have recently appeared on the North Sea horizon. Built as nesting sites for kittiwakes affected by offshore construction, these structures prompt a wider question: what would a hotel for all marine life look like?

Family Melting Pot: Fabric painting and printing

Join artist, textile designer and screen printer Annie Gough for a fabric painting and printing workshop at The Battery.

Experimenting with pigment and binders to create your own textile design using different colours and implements. If you would like to bring your own light coloured t-shirt, clothing or fabrics to experiment on please do, otherwise plain fabric will be provided to create your own unique designs.

Please wear old clothes or bring an apron as it can get messy!

Annie Gough

Creating large scale textile prints for interiors and fashion, incorporating geometric prints on a painterly background combining a freeform base overprinted with strong structured design. Annie has also been exploring using a less structured approach to some of her designs where the painterly effect dominates the design.

Printing textiles that can be used for both interiors and fashion creates the ‘Glamouflage’ effect of merging the designs between the two disciplines.

Annie takes inspiration from the Lowestoft coastline and her screen printing studio is based in south Lowestoft.

Date: Thursday 9th April 2026

Time: 10:30am - 1pm

Venue: The Battery, 119-125 London Road North, Lowestoft, NR32 1LZ

Tickets: £3 plus booking fee. Book your tickets here. Please note both children and adults require a ticket. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
