Lowestoft Porcelain Mixed Reality Showcase
The Lowestoft Porcelain Showcase is an innovative mixed reality exhibition that reimagines the town’s celebrated porcelain collection.
The showcase presents rare porcelain pieces from the Lowestoft Museum’s collection, transformed into living digital experiences. Viewed through mixed reality headsets, visitors will see digital porcelain pieces incorporated into the physical exhibition space, powered by advanced game engine technology. Unlike traditional displays, this approach allows audiences to explore porcelain objects from every angle, walk around, interact with, listen to explanations of how each piece was crafted.
Mixed reality technology has the unique ability to blend digital content with the real world, creating experiences that are engaging, educational, and memorable. By combining spatial tracking, digital objects remain anchored to the gallery space, ensuring they feel tangible and authentic. This makes heritage more accessible to new audiences, particularly younger generations, and showcases how technology can breathe new life into museum collections.
