The 3D Commission offered 8 Suffolk based artists commissions of £3000 each to create new 3D or sculptural works inspired by found materials, considering environmental and sustainable themes and prioritising the use of recycled, recyclable and natural materials.

The Creative Bursaries offered 12 local artists and creative practitioners £2000 to help support and develop their creative practice. Each recipient has also been able to access a bespoke package of support from Menta and workspace in The Battery, which has been used for exhibitions, workshops and hot desks.

The Battery of Ideas is an Arts Council England Place Partnership Project with the aim of creating a step change in creativity in a place and is supported by East Suffolk Council and Suffolk County Council.

The Battery of Ideas project has invested more than £70,000 of financial support to artists who live and work in Lowestoft and the surrounding areas.
